Pair of earrings hoops in the colors of the Mediterranean, blue, pearly and orange. Central to these creoles, is the eye of St. Lucia, this little orange glow that gives value to jewelry.
The eye of St. Lucia is the operculum of a shell called "turbo rugueux" (astrea rugosa or astrea bolma), found in the depths of the Mediterranean Sea. It is said that this operculum is a powerful amulet, and it brings wealth and prosperity.
Its name comes from a young woman, Lucia, who made the sacrifice of his eyes, throwing the sea as an offering to the Virgin Mary, so that it saves her sick mother. Touched by the sacrifice of Lucia, the Virgin heals the mother, and gave her new eyes : these operculum.
On the front, the operculum is adorned with a flamboyant orange color, round shape with a particular relief, like an ear.
On the other side, the cap is white and be admired frame its spiral, highlighted with brown.
